The Brothers Coal (2011)

Full-scale installation, newspaper, papier-mâché, found objects, and furniture.

Faithful digital reconstruction (2026) based on surviving photographic documentation of the original 2011 installation depicting the Collyer Brothers entombed in their New York City apartment.

The original installation was constructed by hand over several months and built in place and subsequently destroyed. The above reconstruction was developed using the surviving documentation of the work after much of it had been lost, from the fragments which survived (pictured below):
